What is the Guyana Central Arya Samaj?
The Guyana Central Arya Samaj is the Parent Body of all
Arya Samaj Temples across Guyana. This
Faith-Based Non-Governmental
Organisation is registered with the Friendly Societies Act of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana. It is managed by a Central Executive Committee that
administers and coordinates Nationwide Arya Samaj Activities across Guyana. There are twenty-nine (29) Affiliated and ten (10) Associated Arya Samaj Branches that are spread across the three counties of Guyana (Essequibo, Demerara and Berbice).
The organisation has three established Regional Branches which coordinate various Regional and National activities in their respective regions.
Mission Statement
To organise and coordinate activities across Guyana in an effort to propagate Vaidik Satya Sanatan Dharma in keeping with the teachings of Maharishi Swami Dayananda Saraswati.
Central Executive Committee
The Central Executive Committee which was previously elected on an annual basis now serves a two year term since September 2003. Due to a GCAS constitutional ammendment made in September 2003 the Central Executive Committee will now be elected biennally at the Biennial General Meeting and Elections which will be held on the last Sunday in the month of September for the corresponding year.
Arya Vir Dal Committee (Youth Affairs Committee)
In August 2003, the Central Executive appointed the Arya Vir Dal Committee (Youth Affairs Committee) to coordinate all Youth Related Activities and other Specified Special Activities. The creation of this committee was necessitated due to the dissolution of the Guyana Central Arya Vir Dal - Youth Arm of the GCAS, a few years prior.
