Major Activities of the Guyana Central Arya Samaj
Due to fact that the Annual General Meeting has now been converted to the Biennial General Meeting in September 2003, the Central Executives of the GCAS saw it appropriate to start the Biennial National Arya Samaj Conference to alternate with the General Elections. Hence, in 2004, the first Biennial Arya Samaj Conference was held and will continue to be held every two years on the last Sunday in the month of September.
The Aim of Establishing the Conference is:
to provide a platform for Arya Samajists across Guyana to congregate in an effort to engage in constructive discussions to promote positive growth of the Arya Samaj in Guyana.
The conference is all-inclusive, meaning that full participation is expected from all mandirs across the country with presentations being made by each mandir. Discussions at each Biennial Conference will be centered around a central these which will be chosen by a Conference Committee.
1st Biennial Arya Samaj Conference - Georgetown 2004
The First Biennial National Arya Samaj Conference was held on September 26th, 2004 in Georgetown. The theme chosen was:
"Religious Values in the Society Today". The aim of the 2004 Conference was to analyse the declining status of religious values in today's society in an effort to progressively encourage the inculcation and strengthening of these values. One of the many mandates of the Arya
Samaj is the teaching and the propagation of religious values in the society. To teach and propagate moral values, one needs to inculcate these values in their life and live by example. The temple is an instrumental factor in the propagation of religious values. The conference sought to determine what measures/mechanisms can be employed by the individual, by families and by the Arya Samaj to encourage the inculcation of moral values in life.

General discussions and presentations were focused on the following objectives: to recall the origin and purpose of Arya Vir Dal movement in India and it's spread to Guyana and the other parts of the world;
